If you have changed your MySQL access password or are transferring a new site, to connect your CMS to the database server you will need to enter the details (login, password, server database name) in the so-called configuration file. Next, we will look at the location of the configuration file for popular CMS and show examples of lines that need to be changed. To search and edit a file, you can use your usual FTP client, SFTP connection, or our file manager. If your CMS is not in the list, use the universal instructions to find the configuration file.


WORDPRESS
The WordPress configuration file is called wp-config.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/wp-config.php

 

JOOMLA
The Joomla configuration file is called configuration.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/configuration.php

 

1C-BITRIX
The 1C-Bitrix configuration file is called dbconn.php and is located at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/bitrix/php_interface/dbconn.php

If you have the latest version of the distribution, then to change the MySQL password you will also need to change the password in the file ~/folder_with_site_name/www/bitrix/.settings.php

 

DRUPAL
The Drupal configuration file is called settings.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/sites/default/settings.php

 

HOSTCMS
The HostCMS configuration file is called database.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/modules/core/config/database.php

 

NETCAT
The NetCat configuration file is called vars.inc.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/vars.inc.php

 

UMI.CMS
The UMI.CMS configuration file is called config.ini and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/config.ini

 

PHPBB
The phpBB configuration file is called config.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/config.php

 

DATALIFE ENGINE (DLE)
The DLE configuration file is called dbconfig.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/engine/data/dbconfig.php


MODX
The MODX configuration file is called config.inc.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/core/config/config.inc.php

 

AMIROCMS
The AmiroCMS configuration file is called config.ini.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/_local/config.ini.php

 

PHPSHOP
The PHPShop configuration file is called config.ini and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/phpshop/inc/config.ini

 

PRESTASHOP
The PrestaShop configuration file is called settings.inc.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/config/settings.inc.php

 

WEBASYST
The WebAsyst configuration file is called db.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/wa-config/db.php

 

OPENCART
OpenCart has two configuration files, config.php, so to change the MySQL password you need to change each of them. The files are located in the following directories ~/folder_with_site_name/www/config.php ~/folder_with_site_name/www/admin/config.php

 

DIAFAN.CMS
The DIAFAN.CMS configuration file is called config.php and is located in the root directory of the site at the following path on your site ~/folder_with_site_name/www/config.php
